• Hi,

How can I change my CSS code so that all of my post titles automatically become H1 instead of H2 for search engine optimization? I have tried to replace all “h2” tags to “h1”, but it doesn’t work.

My site is: https://www.miison.se and are using the origin theme.

  • You’d have to change more than the CSS – you’d have to find everyplace in the theme files that those tags are used and change them. Not recommended and probably not a big factor in SEO anyway.

Thanks for your quick reply! ??

It’s actually extremely important for SEO to use the correct h1/h2/etc structure. It’s an absolute must for me (and many others).

I don’t mind spending some time and energy to change the codes to get it right. Do you know how I can do that?

Leaving the SEO question aside, you’d have to go through all the files and find every instance of those tags – and then make sure all the corresponding CSS is changed and works correctly. Also, when the theme is updated, all your changes will be overwritten and lost so you should either use a child theme or rename the theme (in which case it won’t get updated and you may have compatibility issues in the future).
