• I am using the twenty seventeen theme on my local wamp server and everything is looking good with the exception of the header image on the blog page. For some reason the header image uses the hero image used on the home page instead of allowing for an image that actually fits inside the header on the blog page.

I’ve researched a few ideas on how to create a new header image for the blog page but nothing works so I thought I’d ask the experts here for a solution.

Does anyone have any ideas or solutions that I can use to have a different header image on my blog page than the one that is used on the homepage?

For now I found this plugin which works however plugins contribute to a slower page loading time which I had hoped to avoid.

Can you double-check if the page time is coming from the server load time or from the image you’re using?

Thanks for your reply. I wasn’t referring to this plugin alone but the accumulation of plugins overall. I have tested the theme without plugins and added the plugins I need one at a time and the difference in page speed was quite noticeable. In the past I’ve found the same result with live sites doing the same test. So my conclusion is that too many plugins slow down the page loading time.

I am currently trying to create a custom page to see if that will work.

Well I guess I am unable to accomplish this without the plugin so I will continue to use it unless someone here is willing to provide some help.

Not sure if it is okay to add to this post but I need some help in changing the header sizes for all pages without affecting the homepage (frontpage). I’ve tried this:
.custom-header-media {height:400px !important;} but that seems to affect the frontpage and not increase the other header sizes without affecting the content portion of the page.

    Any ideas?
