Changing Header of one theme using Header of another?

    Hello,
    New to wordpress, and am trying to install themes. I have a theme that I installed, but it has someone elses words in it, so I would like to remove just that .jpg, and use a different one with my name in it. So I have found the header from one theme, and would like to use it in my original theme. I have checked header.php, changed the header.jpg of the one to the .jpg of the other, and it messes up the whole page… Does the header have anything to do with the rest of the page? I would think that if I removed header.php then it would just be blank up top, but it totally messes the whole page up. Can anyone let me know how to insert a 900×250 image either ontop of or into one theme from another theme? Thank you very much.

    Just replace the header.jpg It is usually in wp-content/themes/yourtheme/images/
    Offcourse, when the sizes differ it will influence the layout.

    Do not remove header.php (so re-install it) because it does a lot more than just calling for the header.jpg

    Thank you very much. I ended up getting that to work, but now I am unable to produce any text in that spot… So I toold the header out of blueberry theme, and added it to my theme, but no text is being displayed..

    Hi Blackroze,

    I am not familiar with the Blueberry theme. Some themes use a jpg background in the header and still allow for displaying your site title and description sort of over it. Others go for a jpg with the text in it.
    Again, you cannot copy header.php from one theme and paste it in another theme without making a mess.
