Hi! I’ve been having fun playing with the Theme Foundry Make Theme, and am considering using it for one of my sites. However, I’ve noticed that both section titles and individual column titles default to <h3>, and there’s no option for changing them. What’s the best way to proceed in cases where I want the section titles to be a level higher than the individual column titles, to represent a meaningful hierarchy to readers and search engines? Trying to simply enter tags in the dialog box appears to leave two levels of heading tags surrounding the title entry in the resulting page code.
    Many thanks!

BTW, my current workaround is to put section titles in the provided “configure section” dialog box, so they’re <h3>, and then to put individual column headers directly into the Edit Content box where I can assign them <h4>. However, this still doesn’t seem ideal as I’m skipping <h2> headings altogether, and I’m not even using the Configure Column dialog box. That’s why I’m wondering if there’s a better way.

I did also try creating separate sections solely for containing <h2> headers, but this leaves a large gap b/t that header and the following section to which it corresponds.

Finally, entering heading tags into the “configure section” title box also results in a heading that goes off the left side of the page.

I do want to mention that I really appreciate how Make isn’t overly bloated with features and options, which is one of the reasons I’m looking at it over a popular page building plug-in that runs much more slowly. Make’s page builder runs much more quickly than the other one I’m accustomed to. Because of that, I’m not being overly critical of features that could be nice, like being able to change heading levels in the configuration boxes. The simplicity and speed of the interface is also nice. ?? Many thanks!

    Hi there,

Really glad you’re enjoying Make! We’d love to see what you create with it!

Unfortunately, your current work around is probably the best route for now, unless you’re going to make some heavy modifications in your child theme. We definitely appreciate this kind of feedback though, and if you have any other ideas or suggestions while you’re working through Make, we’d love to hear it!
