• Sorry if this should be part of the last question I asked on UK hosting…

Am assuming having a WordPress site transferred to a new host is easy and that I don’t have to start over. If that’s not the case, is it as simple as creating a back-up before I switch, then reloading that with the new host?

  • you can use the export function (tools -> export) and save all your blog info as an XML file.
with the WordPress Importer plugin you`re able to import this XML file into a fresh WP setup.
to be sure you can also export the sql database through phpmyadmin.
all custom info is in the wp-content folder (themes, uploaded images, plugins) so with this folder + sqldatabase (or xml backup) you′re ready to reload your site with the new host.
