Changing Leave a Reply to Leave a Comment

This should be possible to change by using theme translation files, if the theme that you’re using doesn’t have one or you’re having issues changing this you can try using this plugin as an alternative https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/real-time-find-and-replace/.

It allows you to replace any text with the text of your choice.

I finally located the text at line 2264 of the comment-template.php file in the wp-includes folder.

It was within the defaults array:

$defaults = array(

then go down to:

‘title_reply’ => __( ‘Leave a Comment’ ),

The default had been ‘Leave a Reply’ So now I’m happy.

I hope this helps someone else.

Glad you managed to figure that one out. However, I wouldn’t recommend editing WordPress core files.

You can achieve the same effect with the plugin I mentioned above.

Also first time you update WordPress this change will be lost.

@bojan It not a serious crime but your changes are likely to be overwritten when WordPress updates.
