Changing Menu

I love this theme, but would like to add a simple menu above the header image. The theme’s default menu is a drop down and I would like to delete it.

Can someone help me figure out what to delete and add to the CSS to make that happen?

I’d like a simple dark gray bar with white words linking to my blog, Youtube & podcast that shows up all the time and isn’t a drop down menu.
