    Hi there,
    sending mails via easy-wp-smtp, the message ID is something like “******@www.domain.tld”. But it should be “*****@domain.tld” – without the “www”. How can this be changed?

    Best regards

    Uli

  • Hi, can you share the settings you have entered in the configuration of the plugin?

    Thank you

    Hi, do you have any email settings in your site that look like this “******@www.domain.tld”?

    Thank you

    No. definetley not.

    Hi,

    I carried out a test in my dev site and it is working correctly for me. I don’t receive an email like this [email protected]. So there has to be something in your site or server causing this issue.

    Who is your host?

    You might like to contact them and see if they can troubleshoot this issue for you. I am also curious to know why this is happening in your site.

    Thank you

    Hi, to make it clear – the receipients address is OK, it’s about the message ID. Here’s a snippet from the debug mail log:

    CLIENT -> SERVER: To: ***@domain.de
    CLIENT -> SERVER: From: WordPress <[email protected]>
    CLIENT -> SERVER: Reply-To: WordPress <[email protected]>
    CLIENT -> SERVER: Subject: =?UTF-8?Q?[domain.de]_Passwort_ge=C3=A4ndert?=
    CLIENT -> SERVER: Message-ID: <bf********[email protected]>

    My hoster is mittwald.de in germany. We were discussing some SPAM issues when they analysed the mail-log and found that the “www.” in the ID is not correct and can probably lead to a higher SPAM-Score. They told me, that it has to be either wordpress native or caused by a plugin …

    Hi,

    I don’t think our plugin is causing this issue. What happens if you disable our plugin, and you carry out some test. Do you still get the same issue? Do you know if your site was compromised in any way?

    Regards

    Hi,
    you’re right, your plugin was not causing the issue. Sorry for that.
    I still don’t know, why the wrong ID is set, but I found another plugin, that is able to override the message-id.
    Thank you for the good and fast support!
