changing multisite domains to real domains

I am setting up a multisite for work, we have about 10 different real domain names each with its own content, to help with google rating aparently. Anyway I created all the subdomains(ex: a.mysite.com, b.mysite.com) and they were working, but they wanted the url’s changed to the ones the outside world sees (ex:amysite.com, bmysite.com) doing this broke my access to the dashboard. I did this in the sites tab, the url entry.
Any help in getting this to work properly would be apprecited.
I keep telling them to hire somebody who knows the software, but that falls on deaf ears.
