• This terrible plugin changed my wp-config.php and .htaccess then affected my SSL with a lot of issue.

I changed wp-config.php and .htaccess back to default and my site works properly again.
I don’t know if still have any file which is changed by them.

This is unacceptable when a plugin have permission to change wp-config.php and .htaccess level which allow them actually control your whole website to whatever way they want.

This plugin is nothing more a backdoor, malware and hacker script for WordPress.

I recommend people don’t install this.

    Hello @tien-nguyen
I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience with W3 Total Cache and your WordPress website.
W3 Total Cache does indeed make modifications to wp-config.php and .htaccess to enable caching and add necessary rules and rewrites to allow caching to work correctly, but it does not make those changes with the intent to harm your website.
When the plugin creates cached copies of your page and content, it creates them as HTML files in your wp-content/cache directory. The rewrites in .htaccess are used to point visitors to those files correctly, allowing your website to become faster and more responsive for your visitors. If you have issues that you would like us to assist with, please feel free to post your issue in the Support forum for W3TC and we would be glad to help with improving the performance of your site.
Thank you for your review, and once again we apologize for any issue installing the plugin may have caused. We hope to hear from you soon.
