I have four pages of categories (and sub categories) I have added a new category and it is at the top of the list of categories and thus shows as first category on the Site Category Page.

I am aware that you can move categories up and down on the categories page, but I want it to go from the top of the first of my four pages to the end of the four pages (with its two sub categories) – but every time I try to move them they return to the top as they won’t move beyond the end of the first category page list page. How do I move them to the end of the four pages so that the new category shows as the last of the categories on the Site Category Page

    Hi @penelope323,

    Thank you for reaching out.

To move your new category and its subcategories to the end of your Site Category Page, you need to change the order of your categories manually. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Go to your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Navigate to ‘Products’ > ‘Categories’.
    3. Click ‘Quick Edit’ on the category you want to move.
    4. In the ‘Order’ field, enter a high number to move it to the end. WooCommerce orders categories from lowest to highest, so a higher number will place it at the end.
    5. Click ‘Update Category’.

Repeat these steps for the subcategories you want to move. They should now appear at the end of your Site Category Page.

Please note that the changes may not be immediately visible due to caching. Clear your browser’s cache if you can’t see the changes.

Thank you for your quick response. I did what you suggested but once I clicked the “Quick Edit” there was no ‘Order’ field and come what may I could not move the categories. However, more experimentation and what I did was went to the ‘screen options’ and changed the number of items per page to a ridiculously large number and then manually dragged the category down to the end: that worked!

    Hi @penelope323,

It’s great to hear that you were able to find a workaround by adjusting the number of items per page and manually moving the category.
