I’m trying, and apparently failing miserably, to figure out how to control the template the main CM Downloads page uses. I don’t care about the layout of the tool itself, but rather the template file it loads from my base template. Right now, it appears to be using my base archive page, which is very poorly structured for the CM Download tooling. I’d much rather have it use my normal page.php template. I’ve tried setting up every type of file I can think of: archive-cmdm_page.php, archive-cmdownloads.php, page-cmdownloads.php, and everything in between. How do I get this thing to load into the right template?

We describe this in the user guide. In short you need to create under your theme directory a directory called CMDM and with it copy all files from plugin /view/frontend. You can then edit and change single.phtml and index.phtml and make them use style you have. More in the user guide
