Page Template Changes Aren’t Showing up When previewing

    I am working in a website that is updated to the newest version of wordpress and has all of the plugins updated. I am trying to make edits to a page. When I change the Page Template and try to preview it, nothing will happen. When I update the page and look, the page will have the correct template but it won’t let me preview it before updating. I can preview changes that are made in the editor/page title/etc, but would like to know what is keeping the templates from not working in preview mode.

    hi
    do backup WP
    switch off plugin by plugin and check if it solves the problem
