Changing path name for blog

ok so lets say your blog is at
yoursite.com/blog1

you want it lets say yoursite.com/myblog

ok you need to change a few things for it to work

1.
this is in your database:
two fields in the wp-options table
first one is the “siteurl” option and than “home” option
change those two to the new link

2. make sure in the ../wp-admin/options-general.php

WordPress address (URL)
and Blog address (URL)
are the address you need

Isn’t that a bit overcomplicating…?

It has been posted zillion times:
1. admin > Settings > General:
change the 2 URL values to what you want to have
2. Save, don’t worry about the error message
3. Don’t try to see your blog!!!
4. via FTP rename the “blog1” folder to what you put in at Settings
5. Done.
(you may need to reset your permalinks after this)

oops sorry, moshu is right, i forgot to say the most basic change the folder name too wow i am a moron

Will the steps posted (in the 3rd post) above also work in this instance…
original path name is: blog.example.com
desired path is: example.com/blog

Thanks for your help. I’d love to have advice before making the change. I’m inexperienced and temporarily lost access to my blog earlier today, so I’m feeling a little more cautious.
