• A few years back, I moved my blog from Blogspot to self-hosted WordPress. At that time, I was advised to set the permalink settings exactly as it was when at Blogspot. I was advised to add .html at the end since that is how it was at Blogspot.

This is shown in my current setting:
    /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html

Would it hurt me anything in terms of SEO if I now removed the .html from the end?

From what I understand, it doesn’t appear that links will break because when I access a page or post without the .html at the end, it re-directs to the correct URL.

I don’t have to remove .html per se, but just think it looks strange.

    What do you guys suggest?
