changing post ID

  • Ok so I made a post, then deleted it. Then made a new post. Now I have one post that has the ID 32 and another with ID 34. Is there a way for me to change Post ID 34 to Id 33? I’d like to do that for things like the commentor plug, so commentors from post 32 can get plugged. If there’s a way to change the ID, please let me know.

    Do you have phpMyAdmin? If so, you can go directly in to your database and edit the values. However, I’m not sure if the comments will still be around after deleting the post. I think Podz has a tutorial or two about using phpMyAdmin on his site:

    juliecookies – given how complex things link together in the database, and then when images get into the mix, and pingbacks, trackbacks …… the urge to keep it neat and sequential has to be resisted I’m afraid ??
