    Hi Jordy,

Love this plugin! Have a complicated question.

I started off using the WP/LR sync’s new Post Type option to link multiple LR Collections with my theme’s custom post type (portfolio). It worked very well.

I am now realizing that those portfolios are not good for SEO and plan to use pages instead. Can I change my setting in WP/LR from the current custom post type to Pages? What will happen to the old Portfolios? Will LR need to sync and upload new images to these new Pages?

If I use the Convert Post Type plugin to change these Portfolios to Pages first and then change the setting in WP/LR, will that keep everything in sync?

Hope that makes sense and I totally understand if such big moves will break the photo sync but wanted to see if it was possible to switch the portfolio to pages.

    Thanks!

    Eyal

    Hello ??

Love this plugin! Have a complicated question.

The most complicated, the most fun!

I started off using the WP/LR sync’s new Post Type option to link multiple LR Collections with my theme’s custom post type (portfolio). It worked very well.

    Just by curiosity, which theme?

Can I change my setting in WP/LR from the current custom post type to Pages? What will happen to the old Portfolios? Will LR need to sync and upload new images to these new Pages?

WP/LR Sync only cares about the ID of the post-type. So if you change the post-type itself, it will start create pages instead of portfolios but the previous portfolio will still be kept in sync. It would be a bit confusing though.

If I use the Convert Post Type plugin to change these Portfolios to Pages first and then change the setting in WP/LR, will that keep everything in sync?

What I believe this plugin does is that it only modifies the type for each post. In that case, WP/LR Sync wouldn’t mind at all.

You can use that plugin then change the option in WP/LR Sync related to the post type. I believe it will work. Just make a little backup for you DB before that, just in case ??

Thank you Jordy! Really appreciate the thoughts.

The theme is Avada – I can confirm it works very well with WP/LR and it’s nice that it is the most popular theme out there.

Good to know that WP/LR probably won’t care about the post type change. I’m going to see how SEO improves with the one page I converted and then decide on the rest.

    Thanks again,

    E

Cool! Avada is a company though, right? Is this a particular theme? It is very easy to link from WP/LR Sync to Avada using the Post Types extension you mean?

I should probably contact Avada to tell them to ask the information for the users who would like to have sync with LR.

Let me know how it goes ??

    Avada is this: https://avada.theme-fusion.com

And I’ve already told the devs how much I like WP/LR and that it integrates perfectly with their custom post types.

I rethought my strategy and may keep WP/LR as-is and create pages expressly for SEO use.

    Thanks again Jordy
