    Hi there

    My WordPress pages & blog posts have URLs like “site.com/post-title”.
    For blog posts how do I get URLs like “site.com/news/post-title” without changing the URL for pages?

    Thanks.

  • Simply change the permalinks.

    Go to the “Settings > Permalinks >” and set your custom permalink.

    Refer to this screenshot- https://a.cl.ly/yAulv8mq.

    I hope that helps and clarifies.

    Hi Fahim,

    That will change the URLs for Pages as well, and I need to change URLs for ONLY Posts.

    Any other thoughts are welcome.

    Thank you

    The custom permalink field on the settings->permalink screen only applies to Posts. Not to Pages.

    If you change the URL of “site.com/post-title” to “site.com/news/post-title”, it is already a change of the URL of the site pages. Be sure to configure 301 redirects.

    For messages there should work another principle, I will not prompt precisely.

    @davidksmiths
    Changing Settings > Permalinks, changed the URL of posts, but not pages, so it worked fine.

    Thanks.
