    I have the events manager plugin installed and have been trying to change the background colour of the search button and the borders of the search boxes on the events page from the default pink to #FF9900, the same as the rest of my site. I have tried various different css codes but haven’t been able to change this particular button. Any ideas please?

    Managed to sort the button out, but still can’t target the border of the search boxes at the moment.

    This should do it:

    input.em-search-text, input.em-search-geo {
         border-color: #FF9900 ;
    }

    Since those event search box classes are specific to the plugin and not related to Sela, if you need further customization help, I’d suggest you ask in the plugin’s support forum.

    Not quite, but I’ll keep trying. Thanks anyway

    That CSS worked fine in my browser inspector, but perhaps I misunderstood exactly what you were after. Good luck. ??

    @mjas82 how did you change the color of the search button from green to any other color?

    I didn’t. I couldn’t get it to work so it still has the Sela default pink colour as the border

    Hello,

    I tried using this to change the box around my search and it didn’t work. It is still red. Is there something else I should use?

    input.em-search-text, input.em-search-geo {
    border-color: #FF9900 ;
    }

    I would like the color to be 669770. My site is https://www.dishesbyb.com/

    Thank you!

    Hi @, the code that was originally given above was to change a border color on a plugin. To change the color of the border on the standard search widget, this would be the CSS you would need.

    input[type="search"] {
        border-color: #669770;
    }

    I used the web inspector built into my browser to find the relevant CSS. If you are not familiar with the web inspector in your browser, take a look at this support page over at WordPress.com on How to Find Your Theme’s CSS where you will find some brief screencasts to get you started with it. I find it an invaluable tool when working with CSS.

    Hi @sacredpath, I was able to change the outline of the box to the desired color but when I click into the box to search, it changes to red. How do I change that color?

    I used the inspect element feature and didn’t see how to change the color/where the color is indicated.

    Ah, I didn’t notice that. This is where the red comes from.

    input[type="text"]:focus, input[type="email"]:focus, input[type="password"]:focus, input[type="search"]:focus, input[type="url"]:focus, textarea:focus {
        border: 1px solid #f25f70;
    }

    Resolved. Thank you!
