    Hello!

I keep encountering the same issue on my site, and I need help to fix it.

The agency who created the site used a custom theme specific to our site, and as such now that I have taken over, it is very hard to customise. There is only small selection of different sections I can add.

This problem in particular is adding our team members to the team page. The only section I can use is a two columns content block, and this does not work well as I have to split the team into two short codes and this results in the layout being uneven.

s there a way to add in more section options? In particular a section that allows me to use the full width of the page? I will screen shot my section options for reference.

    Any help would be great!

    Best wishes,

    Jono.

The theme your developers started with is called underscores. If you want to take over the content and updating of the site without their input, then I would recommend you read the documentation on underscores to understand how your theme is built. Here is a good starting point:

    https://torquemag.io/2017/08/beginners-guide-to-creating-a-theme-underscores/

    https://themeshaper.com/2012/02/13/introducing-the-underscores-theme/

It’s not really a custom theme – think of it more like a starting framework.

See here for how your Team page is being rendered:

It is probably using a template file that you will need to update.

You can use a plugin like this to isolate which template is being used:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/show-current-template/

Or, ask the agency who delivered the site to you.

Thanks so much for your info! Very helpful.

Do you know of any resources that might show me exactly how do to these updates? I am only looking after the site currently and do not have coding experience.

    Best wishes,

    Jono.

Not really – your request is too generic to comment on a specific implementation. But you need to understand how the templating system works. If you’re not comfortable with this, I would recommending finding a developer to maintain / update the site.

Here are some resources to get you started on templating:
