Changing Servers issues…

    I started building on one server and switched to a new server and url. I was using perma links and after transferring found my sub pages turned to 404 error pages. I went back to the default perma links and everything cleared up. However, I really want to use custom permalinks and every time I try to switch them on, my sub pages go away. Obviously I did something wrong transferring the files – Can anyone help me get back my custom permalinks?

    Also, I no longer can upload files to the upload folder. I have no idea what has caused this. Again obviously an issue with my transfer.

  • did you delete the .htaccess file and let WP generate the new one for you?

    Also, for uploads, try going to settings->media and resetting your upload path

    Ok, so I just found out that all my issues are mainly because I switched from my server – Linux – to the clients server – Windows IIS. To solve all my ills, I moved it to a linux server again. I should be good as gold tomorrow.
