    Hi all!

When I convert a simple product into a variable product, all the ‘properties’ are automatically ticked as ‘used for variations’.

Since we have a lot of properties for each product, it is a lot of work to change this manually.

It would be easier – when converting the products – the properties are not automatically ticked to be used for variations.

    Any solutions?

    Hi @stefcke,

Trying to change a simple product to a variable product, in the attributes section, “Used for variations” was not ticked. Further, no variations were automatically created.

Thus, we’d like to know the workflow you used when changing from the simple to variable product.

If you’re following the same process as shown above and still get variations automatically created, could you try doing a partial conflict test by disabling all plugins apart from WooCommerce and switching to a default WP theme then checking if the issue persists when you change another product?

Let us know how it goes.
    Thanks.

Hi @abwaita – Thanks for your reply!

We import the products via Icecat plug-in, maybe there’s something in the code (I’m not a dev).

Maybe you are able to find something within the code?
Or maybe have a solution to disable it for all properties at once?

Since this is a third-party plugin, which we are unable to provide support for, I recommend contacting the plugin developer directly.

Alternatively, you can use a plugin like this (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/woo-bulk-editor/) to bulk-edit “used for variation.”
