Changing sorting order doesn’t work (properly)

I’m using the newly introduced Editor to modify custom category templates: Within the “Querly Loop” I insert a “Post Content” block. — Now, I don’t know if I’m supposed to modify blocks inside a “Query Loop”, but the Editor let’s me do it, and it works as intended — that is, until I try to change the sorting order of the posts, either by using the block settings (deactivating “Inherit default layout”, then setting “Order by” to “Oldest to newest”) or by adding equivalent code in functions.php (which I used successfully in my old theme).

When viewing the category page with these modifications, the posts appear sorted accordingly — but for the first post on the page, the “Post Content” always shows that of the last post. This happens with any category containing any number of posts.

Does anyone have a solution for that?
