    Hello,

    I’ve got an interesting information from a site that I maintain.
    The customers are getting full name of the owner of the company while paying with iDeal for Stripe.
    Example: Full Name of Owner: example.com

    We’ve tried to change it from Stripe dashboard and changed all statement descriptor, but customers are still seeing the full name of the company owner while making a payment with iDeal!!!

    Is there a way to change this via a filter?

    Thanks for the support.

    Hi there,

    You can set the Statement Descriptor for the Stripe plugin on the settings tab as outlined here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/stripe/#section-2

    @kbassart Thank you for your reply. Of course we’ve changed it in the settings and that is why we never tested it until a customer made us aware of it.

    Is there any filter with which we can explicitly change the Statement Descriptor for iDeal?

    Do you have any other solutions. We’ve tested it again on our live site and it is still showing the full name of the company CEO!!.

    Thank you

    I wanted to confirm that it wasn’t changed there as that wasn’t mentioned.

    If the descriptor added by the plugin is being overridden for iDeal then I’d recommend contacting Stripe directly to see if there is a setting on their dashboard that is overriding the plugin settings.

    Hi there,

    The WooCommerce plugin sends the single statement descriptor that you’ve set in settings. Beyond that it’s not under the plugins control what data is sent to the actual bank nor what Stripe posts to the statement.

    Here’s the information from Stripe on how Statement Descriptors function:

    * https://stripe.com/docs/statement-descriptors
    * https://stripe.com/docs/sources/ideal
    * https://stripe.com/docs/connect/statement-descriptors

    You’ll need to work with Stripe to determine where this data is coming from.

    Thanks for your help @kbassart I will try to find out and if I found the solution I will post it here.

    @jasnicole Have you found the solution? I’m experiencing the exact same issue. Help would be appreciated.

    Best,
    Stefan

    @stefankroesbergen yes I forgot the solution.
    Here it is for you or anyone else looking for the answer.

    It has do the with the fact that of how a company is registered in your country. Based on your registration your company name or your personal name is shown in iDeal payments. This is something that can only be changed if your company registration is changed. It has nothing to do with Stripe plugin. Stripe is going to forward the users to iDeal page and based on your company registration iDeal will show the information to the customers.

    I hope this helps you with your question.
