On version 3.3.0, if you alter the check-box the setting is not saved when you exit WP-Optimize, e.g. if the box is unticked in Optimisations and I tick it, then click Run Optimisation, no backup is started but the Optimisation runs; with “Take a backup…” ticked, if I then exit and go to, say, Plugins, then immediately return to WP-Optimize, the “Take…” box has ‘unticked’ itself.

Happens other way round as well – if Take is ticked on entry, then unticked, exit WP-Optimize and return, the box is now ticked again. Behaviour also seen in Tables.

This happens on all sites I use the plugin on.

    Hi,

I do not experience the issue but I will get my colleague to check this as well.

Working on another site today, I realised I misunderstood how the backup option works in Optimisations: the Take a Backup option only applies to when you “Run all…” – so the example I gave was selecting a single Run Optimisation where the option for a backup does not apply.

However the “tick not being saved/unsaved” issue remains as described above when you change the selection then exit the plugin. This happens on four websites I manage across 3 different hosting providers and on Chrome and Edge.

    Is on the tables tab?

This is always checked by default

Yes, default for Tables is checked on. So you are saying I cannot permanently turn this off, it is always on, and if I don’t want a backup then I have to remember to turn it off when

But “Run all…” for Optimisations is always ‘off’ on one website I have. If I change it to ‘on’, then exit the plugin, when I return to the plugin it has been turned off again. Surely if I want Optimisations to be always on, then if I set is so, the plugin should keep the change I made?

But then on another site it is ‘on’. If I turn it ‘off’, exit the plugin and return, it has been set on again without me doing anything.

So the behaviour on these two sites is the same – a tick change to Optimisations is not being saved on exit. But why is one site on and the other off on opening the plugin?

I will pass the feedback onto our development team and try and make the case for a more consistent user experience.
