Apologies if I’m posting this in the wrong forum, I did my best to figure where exactly I should be posting a request like this.

I recently added a plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/mybooktable/) to the WordPress plugin repository, and it shows my account as the plugin “Author” on the main page. I’d like to have our company account show up as the plugin author instead. I’ve tried removing myself as a “committer” and adding the AuthorMedia account as the sole “committer”, but it still doesn’t change the author, and I can’t see any other sort of system for changing plugin ownership.

How do I go about changing the displayed plugin author?

How long ago did you make those changes?

Earlier this morning. Does it just take a while to update or something? Sorry for wasting your time if that’s the case :S

From what I recall, some areas of WPORG (I think SVN is one of them) are mirrored and it can take a while for all of the mirrors to update. Try checking again in about 24 hours.

    Okay, will do, thanks!

I’ve waited 24 hours and the author still definitely isn’t updating.

I’ve flagged this up for the attention of the plugin team but please understand that they’re currently under-staffed and over-worked, so it might be a while before someone gets back to you.

Okay, I understand. How long should I wait before following up on this?

Well we’re backed up about 6 times normal so… y’know a week normally.

In your case, you goofed your readme ?? You can fix this yourself.

The Plugins directory and readme.txt files

Back to the readme.txt. There’s a line called “Contributors”. This line has always been expected to be www.ads-software.com usernames only. WordPress reads those, gets information about that user, gets their gravatar, name, etc, and makes the authors listing. If you put anything here that’s not a www.ads-software.com username, then it doesn’t look nearly as good. No picture, no link, just text.

Ahh, woops! That makes sense now, thank you! ??
