We have had our website designed externally and although I can change most things, I can not find the setting to change the category heading style when displaying several headings in the same page.

For example: https://www.sazaniassociates.org.uk/projects/ on our website out post categories “Projects & Activities” and “Past Projects” are a smaller font than the individual post headings (“women & food sovereignty” & “ZEET”) and I want to change the cataggories to a different heading style we have.

  • The simplest way is to use the admin screen Appearance – Editor to change the style.css file. Look for .category-section-title and change the style rules to whatever you want.

ah, I was afraid of it would be in that section… it starts with “DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE”. Though i found the right area, i think i will leave it for now, but thank you for your help and at least i know where i need to change it.

So it does! You could ignore that warning, or you could follow the instructions below the warning, or you could make a child theme.

If you choose to ignore the warning and you ever go back to external designers to have them modify the design, you’ll have to send them a copy of your modified design as a starting point.
