My current html website contains an Announcements page. It is one long block containing a date line followed by an announcement, then another date line, etc.

I would like to recreate that page as a category in WordPress. I thought I would simply repost each announcement and let WP put in the date, comment link, etc.

That means I need a means of changing the dates that WP supplies. Would I do this by using phpmyadmin to edit the individual records in the database or is there someway that I can do this in WP??

  • You can change the date timestamp on any post in the admin. It’s on the right hand sidebar about 3/4 of the way down the page. I would set the date/time before publishing the posts.

Thanks for the info. I’m still a bit new to the lingo here. When you wrote “admin” what exactly did you mean? If you mean control panel, I couldn’t find any sidebar on the right when I clicked the Manage Posts tab.

Or maybe you were referring to phpMyAdmin?

No, he was referring to the subpanel when your Write or Edit a post individually.
