  • There is a way to change the default currency in GA through the settings, but that will only change the currency symbol and not actually show you how much you made in that given currency, so for instance instead of saying $200 it will show a user bought £200, which is not helpful.
I’m wondering also how to get around this.

    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting us!

To receive proper insights in your Analytics account via our plugin, the currency in the GA configuration, as well as that of the product listing in your site must be the same. Kindly follow the below steps inorder to change the currency in your GA account:

    1. Browse to your Admin configuration in your Analytics.
    2. In the View Settings, change the Currency to the required one.

    Hope this helps!
    Thanks & Regards ??

Hi, thanks for checking in. I’m afraid it’s a bit more complicated than that. All that does is to change the symbol — it doesn’t actually change the data to the correct one. For instance, the products are sold in NIS, which is roughly = .25 USD. So the data flowing in for the purchase of a 100 NIS shirt shows up in GA as a $25 purchase. If I change the settings as you describe, all it does is then display that purchase as 25 NIS, which is incorrect.

Do you understand better now what the problem is?

Hello – was this issue solved? I’m having the exact same issue. Changing in GA only changes the symbol, and not the actual value.

Yes, eventually we were able to get it working with the help of this article: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/ecommerce

Ok, thanks – what files did you edit to make the change?

    Hi All,

    Hope you’re doing good!

Changing the currency in GA doesn’t just change the Symbol, but it does affect the revenue as well. If the local currency type/code differs from a view’s global currency code, GA will perform the necessary conversion using the prior day’s exchange rate.

    Kindly refer the doc here(https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6205902?hl=en)

    Hope this addresses the concern!

    Thanks & Regards ??
