changing the image on main page to slider?

I don’t currently have this theme installed, but from the look of https://www.ads-software.com/themes/celestial-lite I can recommend this:

Probably have to edit the index.php to get rid of the image band that stretches across. Once that is down you’ll probably want to make sure the html and css are workable to replace with a simple slider plugin.

Absolutely do this in a child theme. I take it for granted that we were talking about that.

In your home dashboard, click on Customize Your Site (the big button) and when the customizer opens, go to the Header tab. The first setting “Hide Showcase Demo Banner” will disable the banner so you can use your own. The banner is for show on first install and activation (a type of placeholder) which is what that setting is for ??

First of all, can I just say this theme is just plain awesome?! Anyway, I figured out how to change the Showcase demo banner picture to a different picture or remove it, but is it possible to use meta slider instead?

You can use your slider of preference, although i have not tested every slider out there with this theme, but go for it and try it out.

Gotcha. I know I can put it in the main content (and works great), but I would like to put it where that showcase demo banner was. Where would I put the slider info/code to make that happen?

The theme has a Showcase banner widget position for that…so you would simply use a slider widget if it comes with the slider, or a text widget and drop the shortcode into that.
