Changing the index of my blog to a page (and not the blog itself)
-
I am an utter wordpress n00b, and I’m trying to make a wedding registry with wordpress. I was wondering if there was some simple and easy way to set the index of your wordpress blod to something other than the blog page with all the posts. (IE, set it to a different page via the wordpress admin panel).
The other ways I have thought of of doing this are:
– change the template for the index.php file since I really don’t need the posts displayed on an index page like that and I’d prefer not to have one at all.
-Do the “give wordpress its own directory” thing, only backwards (move the index file and not the rest of the wordpress files) and then make a page with all appropriate links on it.I’m php-ignorant but I am willing to learn and I plan on making a theme for it anyway, so telling me some PHP stuff will fall on n00b ears but not be passed over.
