Changing the order of items not working

Are there issues with 3.8.1 or is there something wrong with my set up? I had no problem with the first few quizzes I set up, but the latest I’ve set up is being extremely troublesome.

It looks like it did. Not sure what I should do now. Here’s the output.
[“Hard Coal Facts”, “”, “”, “A”, “B”, “C”, “D”, “F”, “Which Kentucky county produced the most coal in 2013?”, “Correct, it is Union County.”, “False, it is Union County.”, “Harlan”, “Union”, “on”, “Pike”, “Martin”, “Muhlenberg”, “The Western Kentucky coalfields have become ______________ productive over the past ten years, and the Eastern Kentucky coalfields have become _____________ productive over the same period.

(Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet & Kentucky Geological Survey)”, “Sorry, the correct answer is C. Western Kentucky coal production tonnage has increased almost 60% over the past ten years while Eastern Kentucky tonnage has declined by about the same percentage. (Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet & Kentucky Geological Survey)”, “Modestly more, significantly less”, “Significantly more, modestly less”, “Significantly more, significantly less”, “on”, “Coal mine employment in Western Kentucky during the past several years has mirrored the very substantial decline seen in Eastern Kentucky.
“, “Correct, it was false. Eastern Kentucky has experienced precipitous declines in coal mine employment over the past couple of years, whereas employment in mines in Western Kentucky has been essentially stable (Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet). The story of the “War on Coal “is largely the story of the tapping out of the Eastern Kentucky coalfields due to many factors. And it is also surely the story of decades of failure to plan for this inevitable day.See what the CEO of Peabody Energy had to say in this excerpt from a recent article in the Wall Street Journal (WSJ, January 7, 2014).
Coal companies say Appalachian coal has become too expensive to mine. Ten years ago, Peabody Energy, the nation’s largest coal producer, decided to move west and overseas. “It all comes down to geology,” says Chief Executive Greg Boyce. “You’ve got a district [in the East] that’s been mined for 100, 120 years; conditions were difficult.””, “Sorry, it was false. I think I see the potential problem.. You’ve got the phrase “War on Coal” in two places – in both of these cases, it’s surrounded by quotes, the problem is that they’re a weird / special kind of quote that you’ll often get from copy & paste out of Word. If you find those two places and just get rid of the quotes that are there and replace them with standard keyboard quotes. That might get things working again…
When I changed this it let me save the edit/save the draft and publish, but when I tried to change the order it didn’t work. It seem slike the header is not updating when it has MoveQuestion variable in it. I stripped out all special characters and still had the same issue when attempting to #moveQuestion.
I’ve gone back in and re-entered the questions again, one at a time and have to wonder if there isn’t a maximum length for questions? After going through the process again it appears to be hanging up[ on the longest of the four questions. Is this a possible issue?
There’s not a max-length that I’ve defined anywhere, but there could definitely be an issue with the size.
I’ll do some testing later tonight / tomorrow to see if I can reproduce the issue on one of my WP instances.
What is your server setup like? Shared hosting?
shared, with a dedicated IP. when I make the questions and or responses shorter they work right away, which is why I’m wondering if it isn’t maxing out on something.
Yeah, it sounds like there is definitely something putting a limitation on the size.
What is the hosting provider?
Also what browser are you using? Some put limits on the size of JSON data you can have (around 40MB), which is what SlickQuiz sends back to WP. Based on what I saw of your data above though, I’d doubt it’s the browser – that should be far less than 40MB worth of data. But that said, it might be worth testing this out in another browser.
I stripped down the responses and have to move on. Might be something to check out for the future for you. Thanks so much for your help with this. Wish we could have come up with a more concrete cause, but got to get on to other stuff.
And thank you for all your help! I’ll definitely be spending some more time on this.
Thanks again for your patience and thank you for using SlickQuiz!
