Changing the text color

Well sure, I can start hacking CSS but it’s not clear to me how to change every instance of text on my site to solid black, including the headers, footers, widgets etc. Why isn’t there a slider for the text colour, given that there are sliders for the background color and the accent color? This seems like an obvious omission.

Correct, for homepage sections font color is set separately per blocks so it’s not manageable globally via the Customizer Colors section, unfortunately, and should be changed as explained in the guide using CSS.
