changing the title attribute of the main navigation links

hi…

at the moment, the sidebar navigation links that i have for the pages of my site have a title attribute which is, as far as i can tell, taken from the page title. i.e.:

?ul?
?li?
?a href=”/blog” title=”Blog”?Blog?/a?
?a href=”/about” title=”About”?About?/a?
?/li?
?/ul?

(angle brackets replaced with those doubled-up versions)

i want to either change these title attributes, or else not have them there at all. how do i do this?
