• Hi guys.

I just bought a .com domain (www.mariaberthel.com) and I would like to be able to create a blog on this domain, instead of on my old .dk domain (www.mariaberthel.dk), with wordpress. The thing is that I just cannot figure out how to change the fact that my wordpress account is operating on my .dk domain without messing everything up.

How do I change this? Is there some setting somewhere I can change, so that my wordpress account is administrating a blog on my .com domain instead of on my .dk domain?

Please help, I already messed everything up once and I’ve been trying to really understand what to do. I’m really new at all this!

  • Have you tried it under: Settings>General on your dashboard? You can modify your URLs from there.

Yeah, I tried. But if I change the first URL to the .com domain, I get an 404 error..

I can make my .dk domain link to my .com domain, but I cannot get wordpress to be synced to my .com domain. Can anyone help?

Where did you purchase the domain name? Where did you host your WordPress? You need to set up the domain name forwarding such that it can direct the traffic to your hosting company.

Was your .dk domain name working before? if the answer is yes, you can forward your .com domain name to the .dk domain name and modify the setting in the WordPress.

I purchased the domain on UnoEuro.com. By where I hosted my WordPress, what exactly do you mean? I’m so new at this, I’m so sorry if I don’t really get everything!

Yeah, my .dk domain worked perfectly before. Okay, so I think I get the thing where I link the .com to the .dk domain, but I don’t know how to modify the setting in WordPress. Do I change URLs after I’ve forwarded the .com domain name to the .dk domain name then?

You mean that I forward the .com domain to the .dk domain so that everytime someone writes “www.mariaberthel.com” it forwards to “www.mariaberthel.dk” right?

Yes, that is what I meant.

Darn it. It doesn’t work either. I get an error saying: ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS.

I can get the .com domain to forwards to the .dk domain, but I cannot get it to work, when I change the URL in wordpress.
