Recently found the crazy rule, whilst preparing the launch of my business.
Thankfully, I came across your plugin.

    Ok, here’s my question –
When importing individual tax rates, all rates hold a name starting with “VAT”, even though I set in the config that “TVA” should be the reserved value for identifying EU rates.

In addition, all rates are marked as Compound and Shipping. I have not seen how to uncheck these all at once.

Is there a workaround for these two issues ?

    Hi Simon,

I’ve just released a version 1.10.12, which adds a field to allow you to choose something other than “VAT” for the default tax description when mass adding/updating VAT rates. This means you no longer have to edit them all by hand.

Shipping – what’s the use case for changing this? Digital goods don’t have shipping; so, whether the VAT rate on digital goods applies to shipping or not is irrelevant… because goods in a tax class for digital goods won’t be having shipping.
Similarly compounding – what’s the use case? I’ve never yet heard from anyone who needs to apply multiple taxes to digital goods.

    Hi David,

Great, thanks for this clarification. I’ll download and continue with my testing.
