changing the width of the_excerpt

    Long story short – a plugin I use doesn’t allow for usage of the more function so that the blog page, or archive pages, show excerpts. You get the FULL post.

    I have created a template page for the category named giveaways. I have it pulling the thumbnail aligned left at 100×100 with the title of the post, then the excerpt. However – it isn’t the number of words in the excerpt I want to change. It is the WIDTH because the excerpt runs right next to my sidebar.

    I’ve searched and searched and cannot find a resolution. The page is located at https://www.thebooksirens.com/category/giveaways/

    I have set the template up with the most basic of php as I’m pretty decent at coding, but no whiz. Any help is appreciated.

    – Your currently used theme is not one of the supported themes from www.ads-software.com/themes/:

    – Please contact the developer directly for support with your question. You’ll be more likely to find a good answer from them, for they have the access to its code. Forum volunteers are not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly.     I’ll change this to resolved although it isn’t.

    generally, why are you not basing the html structure of your new template on the structure of archive.php or category.php of the original theme?
