Changing Theme without Activating

  • I am currently using Sensitive theme and wish to change to Sukelis Magazine, but would like to update and tweak the appearance prior to activating the theme and going “live.” Is there a way to update my website and not publish it until all changes and updates are complete?

  • You might try a plugin like Theme Test Drive for this. According to the plugin’s page, you can change theme options while you’re testing the theme, and I’m guessing that they’ll transfer over to the live site.

    Some organizations also use a separate staging server to thoroughly test things out before migrating them to the live server.
