Changing themes after sidebar widgets set up, etc?
-
I’d like to try a different theme and am afraid of losing widgets, plugins, and content. I will of course backup before making the change, but am unsure what to expect.
Specifically, I have widgets set up in two sidebars. Will these be lost when I switch themes? will I have to reinstall them after switching?
Current theme is the free version of Semiologic 4.2 RC (semiologic.com). I want to switch to Carrington. Would like to avoid rebuilding widgets, plugins and sidebars, or at least know what I’m in for.
blog can be seen at https://lifelawandtaxes.com .
I know that WordPress tutorials suggest that switching themes (at least by now) works like flipping a switch. But it did not work that way when I tried that on another blog recently and am still trying to unravel that one (to be the subject of a separate post).
Thanks for any thoughts you may have on this.
