Changing to New WordPress Theme from Themeforest

  • Hi,

    I’ve just bought and downloaded a new WordPress theme from Themeforest. I’d like to replace my old WordPress theme with the new one whilst retaining the look and feel of the new theme’s demo but also keeping my old posts, pages, plugins and images from my old theme’s installation.

    (One of the downloads from Themeforest apart from the theme itself was an xml file and I suspect this contains the layout and design of the demo.)

    Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

  • You just install the new theme – WP keeps all your content no matter what theme you use. The XML file is probably demo content – but you’d need to ask them how to use that – we don’t support commercial themes here so really don’t know.
