Changing URL

  • Hello.

    I am running our company website on our server with wordpress 4.2.2.
    Wordpress has its own directory and I have access to the Database and the ftp. During installation I didnt pay attention and made the main url “smartbox.imago-technologies.com.de”
    I want it to be just “www.imago-technologies.com.de” or simply “imago-technologies.com.de”.

    Now here is where I am not sure how to proceed. I checked all the help tutorials but couldnt really find an answer. Can I simply change the URL in the database as described here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL or do I need to take any other steps do redirect the whole installation to the right URL?

    Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Also if I do this, I cant find this part of the instructions on my database:

    Look for the home field in the table and click Edit Field. Note There are several pages of tables inside wp_options. Look for the > symbol to page through them.
    In the input box for option_value, carefully change the URL information to the new address.
    Verify this is correct and click Go to save the information.
