I was trying to change my URL and I switched it in the general settings which did not work and I couldn’t even access the site. Then I had to access phpmyadmin to switch back to the old URL so I could even access my site. Now I need to change the URL to the new one but I am unsure how to do that since last time I did it I couldn’t access my site for a while until I figured out how to change it back. Can anyone guide me how to change the URL properly so it’ll actually switch sites and be able to be accessed.

Changing it directly in phpmyadmin would work? and not just make it disappear like last time?

If follow the instructions it should work.

If you don’t feel comfortable messing with the database, then perhaps you don’t want to do this.

In any case, backup everything (including database) before any action, in case something really goes wrong.

Anything you change in your settings page directly alters what is in phpmyadmin (the database).

Altering things directly in phpmyadmin (the database) just cuts out the middle step of using a GUI to make the changes.

Changing your URL in phpmyadmin is going to do the same thing and your site is going to be inaccessible again. You’ll need to change it back in phpmyadmin.

“Move”?

Moving when domain changed is a different process.
