Currently I submit my podcast to platforms via my website and the Powerpress plugin, whilst the media is uploaded to Libsyn.

I am updating my website from a co.uk to a .com, so therefore my current rss feed URL would need to be amended too. (https://www.gunpowderconsulting.co.uk/feed/podcast).

Does anyone know how to do this without breaking any links on my website or any platforms?

Alternatively if I removed Powerpress altogether, therefore just using the rss feed from Libsyn and putting live from there, would that remove everything from Itunes and other platforms completely?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Best thing to do is to implement a 301 redirect from the old feed URL to the new feed URL.

This support document covers how to implement the redirect by editing the .htaccess file of your WordPress site or using the free Redirection plugin:

    Thanks Shawn, much appreciated!

I have one more question, the 301 redirect has been implemented so that my rss feed is now .com rather than .co.uk.

On Powerpress is says I need to submit to Apple again, and on podcasts connect it still has the co.uk rss feed.

Do you think I should resubmit? I understand that all the content should still be there due to the redirect, but just wanted to check that nothing would be broken due to resubmission.

Thank you for all your help!

No, the 301 redirect will be followed on Apple.

    Hi Mike,

I thought that too but Powerpress says in the podcast status that it has not connected to Apple podcasts, and on Podcasts Connect it has the old url on the rss feed. (co.uk rather than.com).

I’m just nervous if I connect via Powerpress this is submitting a new rss feed so I’ll lose everything!

    Thank you.

It’s only because you do not have your APple podcasts URL in the Destinations settings for apple in PowerPress.

You can change the URL at Apple if you want. It won’t hurt anything.

Hi there, Thanks so much for all your help on this topic.
I have just realised though that on Apple Podcasts it is only showing the latest 10 episodes. The previous 50 are all archived and I can’t seem to work out why I am unable to unarchive them.
Apple have advised it’s an RSS problem, but all episodes are showing on other platforms.
I wonder if there is something I am missing on Powerpress?

Be sure under PowerPress > Settings > Feeds > Feed Settings that the “Show Most Recent” field is set to 300. That will update the feed to show more episodes. If you’re using Custom Podcast Channels, Category Podcasting, or Post Type Podcasting, be sure to access the appropriate feed settings.
