Chaning Only One Site Address?

  • Hi all,

    I’m new and was wondering if someone could help me check some changes before I do anything. I read the help page on changing the Site URL name but wanted to check before doing anything.

    In the General Settings page of WP both the site URL with the WP admin login and the Home page URL are set to the IP address. Can I keep that as the Site URL but then change just the Home URL to put the new WP site on the domain? The WP files are in the main cPanel directory. I tried to create a subdirectory but messed up, so I’d like to just keep them there for the moment to void breaking any links to the databases.

    If anyone could answer this, I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
