Char limit on post *entry* plugin?

hi

I want to set a character limit of the author while writing a post… i.e. restrict how many characters can be entered into the new post textarea (and maybe a warning and/or count-down of remaining chars would be awesome).

Is there any plugin for this? Or any code insertions?
