Hi, after (automatically) updating to 4.6.1 my fonts appear as follows:

“It blends the image of a ‘chinoiserie’ ? a foreign interpretation and imitation of Chinese artistic traditions, a term that over time has come to assume the meaning of a clich?, a stereotypical view of China??with the concept of ‘heresy’ ? an unorthodox view aimed at challenging a given truth.”

Now I am trying to downgrade to 4.6 and wait for the theme to be updated, or maybe some help will come from here.

    thanks

4.6.1 is a maintenance and SECURITY release for ALL previous versions.

Therefore, please think twice before downgrading to a version that now has a publicly known security vulnerability.

    Instead, to troubleshoot, try:
    – Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Not just your browser, but any op cache or content network cache as well such as Cloudflare. That will solve many weird JavaScript issues.
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
resetting the plugins folder by FTP.
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
    – If all the above steps do not resolve the issue, then try MANUALLY updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Please read the Manual Update directions first.
Backup: If you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database) before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. You can never have enough backups!

I tried all of these but still not solved.
As for number 1 (flushing any caching plugins) I don’t know whether I got it right but I used WP SUPERCHACHE.
I also reinstalled my theme, and manually updated WordPress.

In the end I think it was a charset problem. I changed it in my wp-config.
