Our accountant noticed that MANY (but not all) of the transactions from our WooCommerce store have been charged DOUBLE tax! ARE YOU TRYING TO GET YOUR CLIENTS IN TROUBLE WITH THE GOVERNMENT? WTF! How is this possible if we have never messed with the rates and keep ALL plugins updated right away? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Should I be contacting an Attorney or the Better Business Bureau, or the Tax Board?

    Thanks.

    Hi there!

As a first step, could you provide the **System Status Report**, it would help us to understand your site setup a bit better. You can find it via **WooCommerce > Status**. Select **Get system report** and then **Copy for support**. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your reply.

Could you also send us a few screenshots of how you set up tax settings and tax rates, and an address to test with, please?

    Hi @obertwhittaker

Just checking in on this for you. Were you able to get the troubles with taxes rectified?

We understand how problems with taxes in any eCommerce store could be downright frustrating – especially when they are overcharged. As far as I understand, WooCommerce in itself has a foolproof tax calculation system that works based on the rules that were configured in the backend. However, when the rules are (apparently) overridden to charge higher tax amounts, it could be a problem. We would love to dig deeper to see where the problem is coming from.

Would you be able to share the information we had requested in the previous message? This would help us in troubleshooting this better.

    In short, could you:

    • Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here in your reply to us in this message.
    • Could you also send us a few screenshots of how you set up tax settings and tax rates, and an address (the city/state/zip code combination should do) to test with, please?

We look forward to hearing back from you!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
