• Before upgrading to WP 2.2 all the notification emails sent to me whenever a visitor posted a comment was formatted in the same character encoding as the blog is running with. In my case this is ISO-8859-1 since it was an import from a B2Evolution running with that character encoding.

So far I haven’t been able to find a working non-volatile way of converting that, which is why I’m not running UTF-8.

Before upgrading to 2.2 everything was peachy, however now the notification emails are sent using UTF-8 encoding, which screws up a lot of characters in the comment (which was using ISO-8859-1 encoding). This is _VERY_ annoying and I hope there’s a way to fix this — either by telling WordPress to send notifications with ISO-88591-1 encoding, or by finally converting my database to UTF-8 (even though like I said, so far I haven’t found an acceptable solution to that problem)

    Any input is much appreciated.
