Logged into my wordpress website this morning and this lovely message was showing up:

Warning: htmlspecialchars() [function.htmlspecialchars]: charset `UTF-6′ not supported, assuming iso-8859-1 in /home/content/26/8371226/html/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 2751

This displays all over the admin pages and post pages. Does anyone know how to fix this? I’ve already uploaded a new formatting.php from a freshly downloaded WP 3.6 and it didn’t solve the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ahh… it was an easy fix, or at least for me it was. The new wordpress doesn’t support UTF-6. I was also on an version of wordpress… But all I did was go into Settings -> Reading change the UTF setting to UTF-8.

If it’s not there, research how to change it for your version of wordpress.

Past that I can’t be of much more help…. Hope it works!
