Chat disappearing after some time

  • Hello, i previously used ‘fb for woocommerce’ plugin, but the chat stopped working there, so now i use ‘Facebook Chat Plugin – Live Chat Plugin for WordPress’ instead. The problem here is that after some time (i don’t know how long, just happened to see it twice in 1 month) the chat button disappears.
    Then i have to go into the settings of the plugin again, and do the setup again. Configure how it looks, color etc.

    Anybody else have this problem? And a solution?

  • I don’t think you can expect this plugin to work anymore.

    It seems like it is abandoned. I have sent message to meta regarding there plugin. But it has now been several months since I contacted them, still I have not heard from them.

    What I did on my page [redacted by moderator], was first to do custom changes I wanted on the chat, on facebook itself. This on Meta Business Suite site.

    Like change the color, how the button is supposed to look like, what language, accept guests or not, questions, etc. Then I copied the custom code and added it to the page.

    I think that what this plugin do, it just makes the snipping part a little bit easier.

    To get the code you need to choose standard, and not wordpress, further the code you get must be placed right after the <body> tag.

    I know.. Meta is difficult (if not impossible) to get any help from.

    Luckily it has not dissappeared in some time now. but will certainly try to find the custom code and add it to the body element if it happens again!
